Love and sex

Popular media represents the most attractive female form as reed-thin, almost anorexic figures. This is curiously in contrast to the fuller female figure that many men profess to find more desirable – figures that have a well-shaped bust. If you too belong to the group of women who have thrown up their hands in exasperation and demanded, “what is it with men and breasts”, here are a few things you may wish to ponder on.

The term Mile High Club is a popular term applied collectively to individuals who have sexual intercourse while on board an aircraft. Here is a little more about the ‘club’, if you are thinking of becoming a member or simply curious to know what it is all about.

If you want to sign up

A pregnancy is a life-changing experience at the best of times. But for a couple who is unprepared emotionally, physically and financially, it involves taking some very major decisions. So if your girlfriend announces out of the blue that she is pregnant, here are some ways you can go about it.

Keep calm

Those of you with the vague notion that spooning involves some kinky activity with cutlery, it may come as a surprise to know that spooning primarily does not indicate a sex position at all. Instead this involves a position where the couple lies side by side but with the man facing his partner’s backso that both of them have their legs bent forward and the buttocks of the woman "sits" into the groin of her partner – just like the way spoons are stacked against one another.

Encourages intimacy

The Kinsey Reports are two books on human sexual behavior: Sexual Behavior in the Human Male (1948) and Sexual Behavior in the Human Female (1953) which are widely considered one of the most successful and influential scientific books of the 20th century. Although a collaborative effort, the main authorship of the books was ascribed to Dr. Alfred Kinsey,  a zoologist at Indiana University and the founder of the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction. The first of these two books came out in the year 1948 and rocked American society.

Sexual intimacy is a natural part of a healthy, mutually satisfying adult relationship. However sometimes a partner can seem to be less enthusiastic on this front. If you have a girlfriend who is great in all other ways but inexplicably fears sex – even though you are in a reasonably happy relationship – here are a few aspects worth looking into.

Cultural conditioning

Every lover knows that warm liquid feeling that typifies a turn-on in a potential sexual partner – it could be a physical feature in a partner or an attractive piece of accessory. However when a turn-on approaches the sphere of obsession then fetishism can come into play. Technically, a sexual fetish is an intense focus on an inanimate object like high heels, a body part like a foot or a medium such as leather or silk that's essential to a person's arousal but does not have any inherent sensuality.

Alcohol and sex go hand in hand on various levels. While wine and champagne have long figured as an integral part of a romantic setting, more often drunkenness is a prelude to sexual disaster and even violence. Men are sometimes under the impression that getting a woman drunk first will pave the way for problem-free sex when this can sometimes complicate things considerably. Having sex with a woman who is drunk can not only be disastrous for  a relationship but can even get you charged with sexual assault.

Almost everyone brings some emotional baggage or other to a relationship. A romantic relationship between two adults is rarely without a trail of shadows. And one of the most common though least talked-about issues is a fear of intimacy. If you believe despite having an otherwise satisfying relationship, your girlfriend or wife is reluctant to come close to you, here is how you can deal with her fear of intimacy.

Every woman is different

Physical intimacy is an essential part of any successful relationship. While there are no rules on how and how often you should be making love, if such episodes have become extremely unfulfilling to either partner, perhaps it is time to take stock of the situation. Here are a few things you should consider if the passion in your relationship has dissipated and your partner is not interested in intimacy.
