Located on the northeastern part of the country, the state of Oregon is famous for diverse landscape from windswept coastlines on the west, to high mountain ranges, evergreen forests and even miles of rocky desert. Willamette Valley Wine Trail

Oregon is known as one of the best wine-producing regions in the country. In fact due to regional similarities in climate and soil, the grapes planted in Oregon are often the same varieties found in the French regions of Alsace and Burgundy. It enjoys worldwide recognition for it Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris amongst other varieties. The three main wine producing regions are Columbia Gorge, North Willamette and Central Willamette. Stretching south from Portland, the Willamette Valley is home to some 200 winemakers, and most feature a tasting room. Many have well-designed outdoor spaces with views almost intoxicating at their wines. In Willamette Valley, you can choose from nine wine trails, including the Salem Wine Trail which winds throughout the capital city of Salem and is home to 12 wineries and vineyards as well as the Eugene Wine Trail, on the outskirts of Eugene which features scenic roads, two restaurants and six wineries. Winery tours range from chauffeured driving tours to full-service tour companies and self-guided wine trails and many offer scenic lodging options as well.

Mount Hood

Located 50 miles east-southeast of the city of Portland is the majestic Mt. Hood, a favorite destination of vacationing couples. home to twelve named glaciers and six ski areas, Mount Hood hosts the only year round ski-season in the continent and is dotted with fashionable resorts any of which can excellent romantic getaways for you. The International Rose Test Garden contains more than 10,000 plants, and the best time to view them is between June and mid-October. The serene, 5.5-acre Japanese Rose Garden enchants with its five distinct garden styles, each designed to instill a feeling of peace and tranquility. Lan Su Yan, Portland's classical Chinese Garden, occupies a square block in the city center and features an enchanting teahouse for you and your beloved to unwind after you are done with your romantic strolls. If you don’t mind going a bit further from the city, a great place to visit with your partner is Mount Tabor which used to be an extinct volcano but is now a park that provides a perspective on the city. Located in charming downtown Ashland, each season of the Festival presents 11 classic and contemporary plays on three unique stages in rotating repertory from February through October. If you are planning to stay for a while, the gorgeously-restored 1925 Ashland Springs is perfectly situated for a weekend at the theater. If the outdoors are your ideal setting for romance , take a walk along Ashland Creek running down from the hills along Lithia Park, along Calle Guanajuato, running behind the Plaza restaurants and storefonts, and through the center of town. There are plenty of picnic benches and sitting benches for contemplation and conversation in the woods, as well as duck ponds, playgrounds, two large greens and a skating rink in the winter. First Friday Artwalk is a free event held the first Friday evening of every month in which the galleries and wineries come together to indulge its romantic visitors. Cannon Beach

Among Oregon Coast's most popular destinations is Cannon Beach where high quality art galleries, luxury hotels, and superb restaurants appeal to couples looking for a romantic getaway. A great place to begin is the Ecola State Park where couples can take advantage of two sandy beaches, over 10 miles of hiking trails, picnicking, camping, and incredible Oregon Coast views.
